Could you be a social media champion for adoption?

During 2016 First4Adoption worked with a number of adoption agencies and adopters to develop a group of ‘Adoption Social Media Champions’.  These are adoptive parents who share their experiences via blogs and social media.

In 2017, First4Adoption will be inviting adoption agencies and organisations to nominate more adopters to do this. This is a great way of building up advocates as well as for adoption in general. It’s also a really good way of ensuring access to positive adoption stories to share online.

Candidates put forward as social media champions should be passionate about adoption but don’t need to be social media experts. First4Adoption will be running a series of workshops early next year to introduce and prepare candidates (and agency representatives).

The workshops will run in locations where there is the most interest and will last for 3 hours – 11am till 2pm (including a buffet lunch). Dates are yet to be finalised, but sessions are likely to take place from late January through to mid-March.

Please let us know if you would be interested (as a Devon adopter) by emailing adoption@devon.gov.uk

There are currently around twenty Adoption Social Media Champions who are coming up with great content. Take a look at these examples:
